Hand Painted Tile - Spanish Inspired Ceramic
Painting glazed tiles is a centuries-old craft tradition in Morocco. In small workshops, artisans apply the ornaments to the already glazed clay tile using fine brushes. It is only in the oven that the colors develop their final brilliance - after the second firing process, the bright colors and the characteristic shiny surface of the ceramic emerge.
This hand-painted tile features a decorative ornament with floral and geometric elements in blue, turquoise, ocher and warm red tones. The pattern looks lively and is reminiscent of Mediterranean tile motifs from the Andalusian region. The design is Spanish-inspired, but remains firmly rooted in Moroccan ceramic art. Each tile is painted by hand and therefore has its own unique character.
Traditional hand painted ceramic tiles from Morocco
Decorating glazed clay tiles is an important part of the Moroccan craft tradition. Typical of these hand-painted tiles are the fine dark lines that surround every detail and separate the colors from each other. This technique creates precise ornaments with clear shapes - from floral motifs to geometric patterns.
Ideal for kitchen, bathroom and decorative wall surfaces
