Hand painted tile – Bohemian style
In many workshops in Morocco, the art of hand-painted ceramic tiles is still cultivated today using traditional methods. First the clay tiles are fired and glazed. Experienced artisans then apply the ornaments to the surface using fine brushes. During this phase, the colors appear rather reserved - they only develop their full brilliance after the second firing process in the kiln.
This hand-painted tile features a vibrant pattern of intricate lines, floral elements and geometric shapes. The strong colors of green, blue, yellow and red create an expressive effect on the light background. The fine black lines that surround every detail are typical of traditional Moroccan ceramic tiles and give the ornament its clear structure.
Traditional hand painted ceramic tiles from Morocco
Hand-painted tiles reflect the diversity of oriental ornamental art. From curved braided bands to floral motifs to geometric star shapes, decorative ornamental tiles are created that have been part of Moroccan ceramic art for centuries. Each glazed clay tile is individually painted and therefore has its own character.
Ideal for kitchen, bathroom and decorative wall surfaces
With their format of around 10 × 10 cm, these Moroccan tiles are ideal as decorative wall tiles. They are particularly popular as a kitchen back wall or tile backsplash in the kitchen and as colorful accents in the bathroom or guest toilet.
Such ceramic tiles are also often used in cafés, restaurants or catering establishments - for example to design counters or decorative wall surfaces. In old buildings, in country house style or in boho interiors, different motifs can be wonderfully combined to form a lively patchwork.
